If you want a healthy and totally yummy chocolate mousse, this is the one! It has become a favorite for dessert when having dinner guests over and everyone really likes it. I only tell them afterwards that there is no dairy nor refined sugar in this mousse, not to raise any suspicions! Most people have a hard time getting that something so yummy also can be healthy.
Of course you can use less dates if you want it less sweet and also increase the amount of cacao if you like it rich. This chocolate mousse can easily be prepared beforehand and be left in the fridge for a couple of hours, just add the topping when it is time to serve. It’s a must try!
2 servings
Ingredients:
- 2 dl (3/4 cup) coconut milk
- 4 tbsp chia seeds
- 5-6 fresh dates
- 3 tbsp cacao
- pinch of sea salt
Method:
- Pit the dates and put all ingredients in a food processor or blender. Blend to a smooth mousse.
- Put the chocolate mousse in small bowls or nice glasses and let sit in the fridge for about 1 hour.
- Serve with your favorite topping. My best suggestions are raspberries or passion fruit which cuts off the cacao nicely and compliments the mousse with a fresh taste. Sometimes I also add small pieces of dark chocolate on top.
